Kannadiga recipe website..
Hi Ya'll,
Here is a website for recipes made our kananadiga style..
http://malasa.com/cookbook/
Usually, when I have looked online for Indian food recipes, I have mostly seen North Indian style recipes, so thought this mught be interesting..
Ofcourse, nothing hits home better than family recipes,so lets do this..
Lets each post our favorite recipe, and, lets make it something that is typical of a traditional kannadiga home cooked meal, that would make a lovely collection!
Best,
Vidya
P.S. This should help to keep our blog more interactive?Any other ideas?

Favourite restaurant recipes!
Hi!
How often we eat at a retaurant and hear ourselves saying " I wish I could make that at home, but I am pretty sure that the restaurant/chain owner will not share his/her recipe!"
Well, with the internet, how much can we really keep secret? http://www.topsecretrecipes.com has a list of restaurant faveroutes, some of the recipes are free, while some other are to be bought!
Enjoy!

Strength training
Check out this CNN website for amazing tips on excercise, healthy eating etc. The one I found the most useful was strength training for women. It has pictures as well as clear instructions for simple excercise we can do at home with just 2 dumbells. I had them and didn't know how to use them properly, well now I know....
Hope you find this link useful, enjoy!

Under prevention tab, click on How to strength train correctly for the exercises I am talking about.

Help me keep awake!
hey gals, how come no one has posted anything this week?
I discovered a new amazing snack today. It's called Snapea crisps. It's low cal/low fat/low sodium crispy snap peas that are baked. It's so light and airy and addictive. It's from a company called Calbee. Try it out if you find it in your local stores....

Beauty
Now, I know we women are all young and beautiful (smile when you think of me!), but I found recipes for home made facial cleanser, mask etc on http://www.ayurbalance.com/explore_howtosindex.htm. It has ingredients that are available in desi stores (like amla, tulsi powder etc). Some ingredients are available on the website www.mountainroseherbs.com
Tell me if you ever make this and try this .....and don't break out in to pizza face......! I am wondering though if it's too much effort....but then again, it doesn't have all those harsh chemicals and carcinogens.

The first step..
Hello!
We are one of those very fortunate people who have a wonderful huge family with so many uncles, aunts, cousins and a set of loving grandparents. But with time, most of us are scattered in different parts of the world, so i thought it would be nice for us to have a common forum where we could all express our views on various things happening around us, exchange recipes, share funny anecdotes, etc.
Please reply back with more ideas on how to make this more interactive and fun for all!
Love,
Vidya
